Spotify Desktop Digital Mockups

This is the homepage for my Spotify Desktop app. I have decided to redesign parts of the pre-existing app to further make the desktop app have similarities to the phone app that I have also designed. I have converted the search bar, which now allows it to be always on show. So no matter what page you are on, what you are listening to, it now couldn't be easier to search for anything on Spotify. With this redesign, I have also added the all important, social listening feature to the bottom of the desktop app, this new bar at the bottom of the screen, has new relocated app icons, such as the home page and the your library page has been moved, this is to mirror the phone app again, where the icons are at the bottom of the screen. The icons are highlighted in green to signify which page you are currently on. The home page has also be redesigned, with new widgets, to make it easier than ever to find and listen to your favourite music.

 

This is the current layout for the search bar, I feel that this design makes it much harder and it take much longer to search for the songs you love with this UI. Whereas my design allows he user to search the app, on whatever screen they are on.
